Director of Accounting

Avatara Director of Accounting will work with the executive team to lead all financial related activities including billing, AR, AP, purchasing, bank reconciliations, and monthly/quarterly/annual financial report generation.

  • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures & principles
  • Experience with creating financial statements
  • Experience with general ledger functions & the month-end/year end close process
  • Quickbooks knowledge & experience
  • Accuracy & attention to detail
  • Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience


  • Responsibilities
  • Prepare asset, liability & capital account entries by compiling & analyzing account information
  • Verify, allocate, post & reconcile transactions
  • Manage billing & receivables process
  • Purchasing & vendor management
  • Asset tracking & management of property tax
  • Cash & payable management
  • Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options
  • Summarize current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit & loss statement & other reports
  • Maintain accounting controls by preparing & recommending policies & procedures
  • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting & analyzing account information
  • Support month-end & year-end close process & produce error-free accounting reports
  • Review & recommend modifications to accounting systems & procedures
  • Work with external accountants on year end reviews & completing taxes
  • Contribute to a strong client relationship through positive interactions with client personnel
